Horray, I started the layout of the book. Another morning, ideally with an espresso and a perfect Viennese croissant, a true original, invented in Vienna 1683.
After months of research and planning, it is so exciting to set the standards, look and balance of the first sample pages.
A big thank you to Virginia Raguin, a well known and highly respected writer, historian, editor and curator in the field and trade. She is providing me with the needed content, guidance and text. She will bring a deeper understanding, reflection and evaluation to my fathers work and the book.
I could not do this book without her.
I am so thankfull for her time, commitment and passion to help me in my journey on my fathers footsteps.
The work of Franz Schroeder can be seen in 350+ churches in the US – mostly on the East Coast.
In memoriam - An emotional day
Franz Schroeder - Ecclesiastical Designer and Artisan in Stained Glass and Mosaic.
June 7, 1929 - December 14, 2018
He was truly dedicated to his profession and will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know and work with this truly and charismatic man.
It's 2 years now since my father past away. 2 weeks later, standing in his studio in Simbach, Bavaria - Germany, the idea of an art book was born.
By now this idea and wish to preserve his art and legacy becomes real in a soon to be published book.
It feels so good to have Virginia Raguin and Rolf Achilles now in the team. Both are well known and highly respected writers, historians and curators in the field and trade.
They will bring a deeper understanding, reflection and evaluation to his work and the book.
I am so thankfull for their time, commitment and passion to help me in my journey on my fathers footsteps. An emotional journey it is for me.
I am still on a book sabatical in Vienna, to work on this book.
All of it is so worth it and with so much fulfillment.
